Let’s Have A” Fun-Raiser”
Let’s raise the Fun Meter on the friends you have right now. Is your life full of “Fun” friends at the moment or are they too busy to be silly? I believe that In order to HAVE fun friends, you need to BE one.
Gandhi said “BE the change you want to see in others.” You don’t need to be a comic or actually very funny but you DO need to be able to be “in fun.” That, to me, means being willing and able to join in the moment of fun that’s happening. If you can do that, the trait of “plays well with others” could go on your resume. Try doing that…just for the FUN of it. What type of people do you want to be around all day at work? People you enjoy being around would be my first guess. The feeling helps if it’s mutual.
Finding the fun in small stuff is a good start. Laughing at ourselves is at the core of being fun to be around. I saw a sign that read, “Friends will help you up when you fall down but real friends will push you back down and laugh. That’s being” in fun” as sick as it seems.:-) Find fun sayings on plaques that you could post where you can see them. I just saw one in Branson, MO that read: “If you’re happy and you know it, slap your friends.” I laughed.
Maybe I need to get out more…he,he. Studies on laughter have proven that laughter improves your immune system, boosts your endorphins, and makes people wonder what you’re up to. So don’t forget to “Jest For The Stress Of It!”
