The Power Of Being Positive
There is power in being positive because it attracts others who desire to be uplifted and encouraged. Smiling makes you more approachable to others because you look friendly and open to join in a conversation. We just returned from visiting Branson, MO. People who live and work there were basically friendly and fun inquiring where “ya’ll” from whenever you looked at them. I loved it! Before I knew it we were discussing shows in town, where to buy quilted purses, and where to eat that had all the “fix ins.” A couple asked us to join them to eat while we were there so we could sit a spell and talk better. The local IHOP restaurant staff were so friendly that we couldn’t wait to go there time after time. Eating was just a sideline as our waitress showed us pictures of her family along with lightning speedy service with people lined up outside to get in….to join in the fun. Do you think that positive atmosphere might help them be ahead of the competition in town? One waitress said I’ll be right back with your syrup and took off running in a funny way just for fun. We laughed and left a great tip for a great experience.
What kind of experience do others have when they meet us? I know how I like to feel when I meet someone so I try to replicate that same sense of genuine interest and joy when meeting others. Having fun with others is like whip cream on hot chocolate which makes something good even better.
